Looking for a Map

Well we have the GPS card- a great ebay find, which was pretty cool given the Garmin nuvi we bought in Abu Dhabi is now discontinued. And we saved a heap buying through ebay. :)

But now I'm looking for a map for the blog, so I can show where we've been.

So if anyone knows where I can get a blog map- please send me a link.
So far my searches have been futile. Thanks!

First Trip- Jamieson

Here are some photos from our chilly first trip up to the snow in Victoria. The Land Rover performed very well and we didn't need chains (even though all vehicles were said to do so).

We stayed in the Jamieson Caravan Park, enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Bonnie Bar (in Bonnie Doon) which was super child friendly and very nice. The Ploughman's plate and fries with garlic mayo delicious! The Jamieson Pub was also very welcoming and a delightful evening was spent there also. Thanks go to the new owners.

The children went toboganning on the slopes of Mt Buller and generally had a great time.

Amelia ready for action- she loved the snow and was thorwing snowballs before we left the car park.
Chris and his new wheels!

Tara trying to be gorgeous despite the freezing temperatures.

First Trip

Today we're off with friends on our first small trip; a couple of nights in Jamieson, VICTORIA. We'll be taking the children to the snow, tobogganing and generally just getting used to "Snowy" our Land Rover 110 Extreme. (Named due to it's colour- not the destination of our first expedition.) Let's hope the heater is working better than it was last night when we collected the vehicle!
We can't take the camper because we haven't got the right towball connected yet, or Anderson plugs. (Or cargo barrier, or long range tanks, or the winch; which is living in the back of the vehicle at the moment due to the fact it was delivered by the manufacturer minus the winch kit with which it can only be installed! Frustrating) But all that will come shortly we hope, after a few tense weeks of debate with the dealer who sold us the car. Promises have been made, and paperwork drawn up so here's hoping! Chris is itching to get moving and is currently spending a large proportion of each day pottering around our new home on wheels.
Photos to come, I've found all the necessary leads, woo hoo!

Setting up

Okay so slowly we are gathering things we need for the van... a few more trips to town and we should be done. That is until we actually begin and find out exactly how unprepared we really are.

Deck chairs, bedding, crockery, technology and storage containers.

Amelia is super happy with her new DORA doona cover in her big girl bed. She'll be very comfortable with her bed, new pillow and doona. We did need to purchase a bed rail so she won't fall out. The drop is almost a metre! And at least then she can't get out of her own accord in the middle of the night! (That part Mummy and Daddy really like)

As for the grown ups we have found a ipod/ ipad player that works off 12 and 240 volt which is pretty nice- a Phillips model. Music is very important and it's so nice to listen to all our tunes even though we're not in our own space yet. (Although Daddy did have to remind Mummy that we are supposedly going "minimalistic" with the camping lifestyle. An exciting idea- but not one Mummy is overly familiar with as Daddy should well know!)

So, a few more things to collect but our list is slowly decreasing, while our excitement is building. It's starting to feel more real and Amelia is now talking about fishing and cooking on the campfire.

Off to wash another new quilt cover and more food storage containers for our mobile home!
